Roger Corman produced 75 hit movies at an average budget of 62 dollars and a pack of smokes. Only one of his films, Deathrace 2000 (1975) went over budget when one of the Assistant Directors bought a cup of coffee. Corman kicked the AD's ass for half a mile before production resumed.


The 1972 film Blacula was produced using 43 gallons of funk.

In 1973, last minute script changes were required to address delays in filming on The Wicker Man. The name of the film was changed to match story updates. It was originally called The Asbestos Man.

During production of the 2006 DVD release of the 1982 film Xtro, it was discovered that all previous video transfers had been made with the film reversed and shown backwards. Nobody noticed until then. After corrections were made and the film was played forward, the DVD producers decided to just restore the film to playing backwards because it made more sense.


Release of the film The Hidden was delayed for 6 weeks because no one could find the film negative.


The Japanese title of The Ring actually translates into English as "All's Well That Ends Well."


At the time of his death in December of 2008, there were only 6 people in Hollywood that Forrest Ackerman did not know personally, and only 14 people who had not stolen a piece of movie memorabilia from his house.
