Nobody noticed until then. After corrections were made and the film was played forward, the DVD producers decided to just restore the film to playing backwards because it made more sense.

Release of the film The Hidden was delayed for 6 weeks because no one could find the film negative.

The Japanese title of The Ring actually translates into English as "All's Well That Ends Well."

The 1971 film The Touch of Satan was one of the only Hollywood productions not actually touched by Satan. This was reflected in the film’s opening weekend gross which totaled $23.95.

As of 1965, 13 horror films had been made using Esperanto as the main language. After the release of Incubus, they were all rounded up and buried in a landfill in New Mexico.

The plot of the 1980 Italian science fiction horror film Contamination, featuring exploding alien eggs, was changed along with it’s original title, “Cinque morti per il coniglietto di Pasqua” (Five Deaths of the Easter Bunny).

This week marks the first entry in a new series of articles here at the Ghoulzone. Fake Larry’s Horror Facts is a regular column dedicated to listing interesting and little-known facts about horror films throughout history. Trust me, these nuggets of information aren’t available anywhere else on the interwebs. If you don’t believe me, go ahead and look. I dare you.

Anyways, here’s some trivia about horror films I bet you’ve never heard:

On the set of Star Wars in 1977, classic horror star Peter Cushing once caused a delay in filming when he overheard a crewmember remark “in them Limey monster movies, why didn’t Doctor Frankenstein just kill Dracula with a gun?” Mr. Cushing punched him in the mouth. The rest of the crew agreed the dude had it coming.

August 5th 1980: Sean Cunningham, director of Friday the 13th, spent his first night sleeping on a mattress stuffed with money. The mattress was later repossessed by Paramount.

In November of 2010, Lion’s Gate announced plans to continue the Saw series, with the franchise officially ending with number 614. When asked if he would return for the sequels, Tobin Bell said, “just shut the fuck up and sign the check.”

During the preproduction for the 2003 film Freddy vs Jason, director Ronny Yu created controversy when he decided to replace Kane Hodder, who played Jason Voorhees in four Friday the 13th films, with comedian Colin Mochrie. Fans reacted to the decision by calling Yu a “massive fucktard”. The film was a huge hit in Canada.

All of the computer effects for Piranha 3D were produced using only Flash animation over the course of a single drunken weekend.

Bruce Campbell’s actual birth name is Andy Dick. Coincidentally, Andy Dick’s actual birth name is Fake Shemp.

It took six lobotomy patients 9 months to write Return to Sleepaway Camp. Only one was needed to direct the film.

In Rob Zombie’s Halloween, the mask of Michael Myers, his entire wardrobe, the shooting script, and the inside of Rob Zombie’s skull were all constructed entirely out of hemp.

Adam Green’s first movie Hatchet was filmed using an all-dwarf cast. Modern digital techniques were used to make the characters appear to be of average height. This technique was not used on Adam Green.

I’m making a set of horror-related t-shirt designs. 2 of them are finished, and when I get another 8 done I’ll have a set of 10 which I call Series 1.

Then I’ll upload the whole set to products on Zazzle and make the annoucement. If people like them I’ll make more, I have enough ideas written down right now to compete at least 3 sets.

The style is simple and cartoony, and the subjects are parodies of iconic scenes of horror. More I will not say but I’ll post the finished design set here when they’re ready. Teaser below:

Here is the design I came up with while working on the designs for the new series of horror/humor t-shirts. This commemorates the 25th anniversary of David Cronenberg’s The Fly. It’s a different style than the stuff I’m working on now, but it popped into my head so I had to do it.

The background is transparent, so you can choose the color of the shirt. As long as it’s not black or white or too dark or light, it will show up fine. So you can choose any of the colors used in the iPod ads for maximum effect!

I wish I would have thought of it a few years ago, but iPod parodies are still funny.
