Horror movies, horror crackpot theories, horror reviewage, horrible humor, are you sensing a theme here?

Preparation G

I haven’t found any file storage sites that I like, so I’m going to bite the bullet and pay for a website space. This way I can host the archives and plenty of them and keep them there for people to find.

The drawback is that I’m going to have to design a website now, and it’s going to take a while. I’ll probably use a nice template. The provider I’m going to use includes forum software in their website package, so I’ll add message boards and other stuff to keep you entertained. I hope you like what you see and bookmark the site as one of your horror movie homes away from home. That you’ll probably visit while you’re at your home. Anyway.

I did lay down most of episode one of the Ghoulzone Horror Podcast. These take lots of editing too, but I’m okay with the results. I’m afraid the sound levels are a bit wonky, but it’s still going to be a fun time for all.

Hang in there and check back with me over the next two months. I’ll put the link to the new website here and announce when it’s ready. I’ll also have two or more podcast episodes there and ready so you can pork out.

Still Almost Ready

I’m having some microphone issues. It odd because I have a pretty good mic, not one of those ones you get with the computer but an honest to god mic.

My voice sounds a little muffled, and if I set the loudness too high to compensate, it adds feedback and noise. This is going to require a lot of editing to make each episode.

Got a theme ready and some fun soundclips and stingers I made for the show. I want to go get more sounds for my library.

Soon I’ll start putting shows up. I also can’t find a good online storage. There’s a couple of good free ones I found, but they make you log in to download my file and I though that was too much of a hassle for you. I guess I’ll have to bite the bullet and buy a website space so I can store the files.

We’re coming along though. Sit tight.

Music Mixing and Sound File Storage

Well, I’m all set up as far as recording. Now I’m playing with some sound files which will help make this a fun podcast.

I’m even mixing my own themes. I love sound mixing.

The one issue I’ve run into is where to store the mp3 files? I’m looking over some sites now, but I’d like to hold out for a lot of space for free. 1 gig should be enough for a nice archive.

Also, I’m doing show notes for the first several episodes. To start out with, I’m going to go for doing shows twice a month, posted every other Monday.

BTW, how do you like the new title banner up top there? I should run a contest to see if anyone can name all the horror movies represented.

Make Ready The Podcast

I just purchased some minor equipment like a stand and windscreen for the microphone. I’m going to do some testing and mark some settings for the sound levels and such.

We are almost ready to get underway.

Welcome to the Ghoulzone Horror Movie Podcast

This is the official site of the one and only Ghoulzone Horror Movie Podcast. Hosted by rantmaster Fake Larry, who brings you reviews of classic horror film DVDs and today’s fright flicks. A fun and informative analysis of horror and cult cinema, as well as commentary on horror news, anecdotes, opinion pieces, and as much all-around tomfoolery as can be crammed into each episode.

Fake Larry gives it to you straight with no sugar coating, in a humorous way sure to bring a smile to your face and cynicism to your mind.

If you’re looking for a serious podcast about horror movies, this is probably not for you. There are lots of great horror podcasts available, see itunes for more information.

This podcast is made for fun. Although I do reviews and examine films, there’s really a sense of the same kind of enjoyment we get from watching good cult films. There’s a little bit of fact, a lot of goofy shit. To get the best results from this podcast, just run with it.

WARNING: this podcast is for mature audiences.

Grab a grain of salt and listen in to the Ghoulzone.
